– Issues Final Warning Notices
The Imo State government has indicated its intention to recover all illegally acquired lands in the state, particularly those at Redemption Estates, 1,2,3, and 4, of the Imo State Housing Corporation, Area P, New Owerri, Area T, Area K, Alaoma Layout, Paradise Layout, Otamiri North, Otamiri South, Naze Industrial Layout, Ogbuku Estate Layout, and many others.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Monitoring/Compliance Nze Chinasa Nwaneri.
The statement dated June 30 2026 reads, “The Imo state government hereby reiterates its earlier warning/public notices of its intention to recover all illegally acquired lands in the state; particularly Redemption Estates 1,2,3&4 of Imo housing corporation, Area P, New Owerri, Area T, Area K, Alaoma layout, Paradise layout, Ottamiri North, Ottamiri South, Naze industrial layout, Ogbaku Estate layout and many others, to this effect, the state government shall commence recovery of government lands & other illegally acquired plots and would demolish any structure, fence or partitions on any such land without further recourse to the public, having issued several notices accordingly.
The government shall prosecute any of such persons involved in the forgery and sales of government lands without going through due process.
The government is committed to its constitutional duty of protecting the lives and properties of its citizens”.
