Elder Jacob Ihejirika and the entire family of Ihejirika, Umuowa, Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, had told ex Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Hon. Uche Best Mbanaso, to hand off from their ancestral land.

The Ihejirika family had alleged that Hon. Uche Best Mbanaso fraudulently took their ancestral land, located Opposite Building Material Market, deceived them that the Rescue Mission regime, championed by Rochas Okorocha, directed him to acquire the said land for the building of a Five Star Hotel with a view to improving the economy of Imo State.

During a telephone interview, Ifeanyi Ihejirika, one of the sons of Elder Jacob Ihejirika, hinted that till date, no Five Star Hotel has been built on the land.

He alleged that Mbanaso parcelates and sells portions of the land and has refused to release the land to them despite all civil and legal interventions.

Ihejirika who stated that their family has over 90 plots of land on the said land, told Mbanaso to leave the land for the rightful owners to enable the reign of absolute peace and orderliness.

“He forcefully took our land, claiming that the Rochas Okorocha’s led Rescue Mission administration directed him to take the land for development purposes. Till date, no Five Star Hotel has been built on the said land, but he has continued to parcelate and sell some portions of the land, wrecking huge amount of money, going scot-free in the streets, at our own expense.

“We own 90 plots of the land. Mbanaso family does not own any land there. We are not selling any land. We are asking that Mbanaso and cohorts should leave our ancestral land for us”, Ihejirika maintained.
