– As Group Urges Omeogo To Withdraw From Contest Over Poor Performance
– Says, His Only Remarkable Achievement Are Congratulatory, Obituary Messages
The Orlu Youth Assembly (OYA) the apex umbrella youth group of the twelve Local Government Areas in Orlu zone, has firmly justified the contents of the Legislative Performance Assessment. Reportedly unveiled recently.
Speaking to newsmen recently, the group’s National President Prince Izunna Obiefule, advised the lawmakers who are not comfortable with report and it’s contents to stop wasting their time on image laundering in different media platforms without addressing the core issues, adding that what is expected of them, is to explain to their constituents what they did and how they disbursed the one hundred million for Imo state House of Assembly members and one Billion Naira for House Representative Members they received respectively for Constituency projects. “This is the only way they can reasonably fault the group’s assessment of their report. What OYA saw on ground shows that it is only few legislators that utilized up to fifty percent of the funds they collected on behalf of their constituents whose mandate they exercise in trust.
That is why some of them who had nothing are now building houses here and there while those who actually own the money are abandoned to their fate.
Most of them don’t even have constituency offices where they can be reached when there is need”.
He also recalled that when some of those who are complaining now were called upon to present their score card for assessment, they snubbed the group, and have now turned around to claim that they were neither informed nor contacted for update.
Prince Obiefule tendered letters OYA wrote to the 12 State Legislators and former federal legislators in the Orlu zone requesting information about their performances and all the letters were acknowledged.
The National President further stated that it is unfortunate that they thought that nobody knew about the enormous funds they received on behalf of their constituents. They should give account of how the funds were used and the projects they executed, rather than dancing naked in the market place.
Speaking in the same vein, the Isu Clan Consultative Assembly, has called on the member representing Orlu, Orsu, Oru East Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives Hon Canice Moore Nwachukwu to withdraw from the 2027 contest over his abysmal performance.
They regretted that the federal lawmaker’s only notable achievements are sending goodwill and obituary messages to his constituents who have become tired of his unproductive antics.
The National President Comrade Stephen Anugwom, while addressing journalists in Owerri, the Imo State capital recently, commended Orluzurumee Youth Assembly for conducting a credible, transparent and unbiased assessment, adding that their report on Omeogo is very apt and uncontestable.
He recalled the remarkable achievements of Hon Jerry Alagbosu, and Mayor Eze who, aside impacting positively on their constituents, created job opportunities for youths. He also noted that Omeogo’s attitude during the period of insecurity enveloped his constituency was nothing to write home about. “He was not only insensitive but aloof and incommunicado”.
Hence Isu Consultative Assembly calls on him to, as a matter of urgency withdraw from the 2027 contest or be disgraced at the polls”.
