A prominent community leader Nze (Dr) Athan Iwuchukwu, (Okenze Amaigbo) who hails from Umukabia Amaigbo in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State has raised alarm over alleged plans by some unscrupulous elements to plant illicit and incriminating materials in his premises with a view to tarnishing his image and label him a criminal.
Nze Iwuchkuw, who disclosed this in a petition dated August 24 2026, with the caption, “PLANS BY FEW DISGRUNTLED PERSONS TO ILLEGALLY PLANT ILLICIT/UNLAWFUL ITEMS/MATERIALS IN MY HOUSE/PREMISES” which he addressed to the Director General, Directorate of State Service, Abuja stated that he received a phone call from an unknown number informing him that some persons he wrote petitions against to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (LCPC) over the misappropriation of Nwangele Local Government Council allocations are allegedly planning to use faceless persons to plant incriminating items in his residential premises in the village, at Oweri, Abuja and Warri in Delta State.
He also stated that the aggrieved persons had earlier threatened to use the Anti Kidnapping Unit of the State Police Command otherwise called Tiger Base and the DSS to arrest and detain him on trumped up charges and false allegations.
Okenze’s petition to the Director General, DSS, Abuja, which he copied to the Inspector General of Police, Director DSS, Imo State Director, DSS, Delta State, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command and the DSS, Nwangele LGA reads in full, “I wish to inform you that I got a phone call from an unknown number by 9:30am this morning, reliably informing me that persons that I wrote petitions against to the EFCC, and ICPC over misappropriation of Nwangele L.G.A allocations as attached, are unlawfully planning to use faceless persons to plant illicit/unlawful items/materials in my residential premises in my village, Owerri, Abuja and Warri. They have threatened before now to use Tiger base in Owerri and DSS to arrest me unlawfully with false allegations, which I formally wrote to the Inspector General of Police, Abuja. As a social crusader, I wish to bring to your notice that I have never/don’t keep or deal on illegal/unlawful/illicit items/materials in my life in any way. Personally I don’t drink any type of alcohol or smoke. I have never been linked to any illegality in my life in the past.
In the past, I was profiled by the DSS before my series of political appointments in Delta State. Copies of DSS form filled by me in the past.
Therefore, I wish to inform you that if by any means, that anything or illicit items or materials are found in any of my premises, they should be held responsible as the names of the disgruntled persons are contained in my petitions to the EFCC, ICPC and the Inspector General of Police”.
