A socio political pressure group in Imo state under the aegis of “Imozurukwuo” has reconstituted and inaugurated its new National Executive Council (NEC) with Barr. George Eke as President.

Other members of the executive who were equally inaugurated include Chief Damian Ezeagu as Director General, of the organization.
While inaugurating the new executive council, Prof. F.C Dike (SAN) who is the Chairman of Patrons, advised the new executives to learn from the mistakes of the past executive committee members. He admonished the new leadership against high-handedness adding that it is good that the members solely elected their National president and other exco members without any undue influence or interference from the Board of Patrons.

 

He expressed confidence in the executive council believing that they will excel in the tasks and challenges entrusted to them ahead of 2019, general elections, as they affect the choice of who becomes the next governor of Imo state, which is a task that must be accomplished. Continuing, he urged them to critically scrutinize the various options available in order to identify who best fits the endorsement of the socio political movement, as governorship candidate.

In his acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated National President of Imozurukwuo, Barr. George Eke, assured the patrons of his commitment to duties and vowed never to disappoint them for the confidence they reposed in him. He stressed on the need for the executives to close ranks and work as a team of people who are focused to do their best for the benefit and continued existence of Imo people and residents.

He also promised to run a proactive leadership that would mobilize massively ahead of 2019 elections which he said would never be business as usual as obtained in the past. He assured the patrons that his executive council will always reverence them in their decisions and preferences and will always consult with them in all aspects of the political mobilization, project with a view to making a huge success of it.

In his vote of thanks, the Director General, Imozurukwuo, Chief Damian Ezeagu expressed satisfaction and happiness with the outcome of the Sunday inauguration exercise. He commended the patrons for their wisdom and how they amicably resolved issues and the recent leadership crisis that reared its ugly head in the socio political group. He then assured the patrons of their readiness to inaugurate the 27 LGA facilitators of Imozurukwuo in no distant time, having almost completed tours for the purpose. Other patrons who were present at the inaugural ceremony and who took turns to address the members, include Chief Ejike Chris Uche (Dimkpasaa), Chief Nick Oparadudu, Chief Obodo, and Prof. Protus Uzorma.
