One of the vibrant and youth friendly political parties in the country, the National Unity Party (NUP), also called the mega party will, on Saturday 16th December 2017, inaugurate the Imo State executives of the party and the chairmen of the 27 local government chapters.

 

The Imo State chairman of the party, Hon. (Pharm) Bright Olaokpu, said this, while addressing journalists in Owerri, last Wednesday. According to him, the event which will hold at Rosy Arts Theatre, Ikenegbu Layout in the Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State, will be attended by the National Chairman of the party, Chief Perry Opara and members of the national executive committee from Abuja.

Continuing, Hon. Olaokpu posited that members of the NUP from the South East and the South-South zones, will all be in Imo State for this epoch event. “Our members who are interested in contesting elective positions and those who intend to formally join the party will also be there to interact with the people”.
The inauguration of the state exco and local government chairmen, will be proceeded by the inauguration of the ward and chapter executives. There will also be a tour of the twenty-seven local government area chapters in the first quarter of next year. “This is aimed at strategizing, mobilizing our people, repackaging and repositioning the party for future challenges.

Responding to a question, the renowned pharmacist and philanthropist, who spent several years in the United State of America, said the party, whose motto is “forward Nigeria” comprises credible and reputable people of proven integrity, who are passionate about the welfare of the people. “Our manifesto which is also people oriented, will fast track industrial and socio-economic development and enhance the welfare and well-being of the people”. He said NUP is poised to occupy Douglas House and other elective positions in the state and country at large. “NUP will wipe the tears of the people, equitably dispense the dividends of democracy, ensure due process, rule of law and transparency in governance”

He urged the people to identify with the party and key into it‘s vision and mission in their own interest.
