The newly sworn in governor of Imo State, His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha has mandated the Head of Service, Mrs Ngozi Eluma and all the Permanent Secretaries in various ministries to officially handover every government properties and documents to the new administration in the state. The governor stated this shortly after swearing in the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hon. Uche Onyeaguocha and his Chief of Staff (CoS), Barr. The governors directive has buttressed the fact that the immediate past administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha failed to handover properly to the new administration.

At the occasion, the governor put the question to the Head of Service and the Permanent Secretary to government house, if whether any official handover note was given to them to which they replied in the negative. He therefore directed them to handover every government properties and documents to the new administration under 48 hours of his directive to ensure accountability to Imo people.

Furthermore, the governor used the occasion to announce free access to government house for all Imolites. He called on security men attached to government house not to restrict anyone that wants to come into government house in order for them to have a sense of belonging in his administration.

His Excellency, Emeka Ihedioha also extended his hand of fellowship to every Imo son and daughter to join hands with him in order to Rebuild and move the state forward. He opined that his administration will do things differently, observe due process and respect rule of law.

The new governor reminded all Imolites that he cannot succeed without their cooperation and support and urged them to support him in order to bring Imo back to sanity, stressing that Imo should and must be the best among other states of the federation.
