The National Executive Council of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA) has petitioned the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Rabiu Ladodo, over the activities of a splinter organization, which goes by the same “Orluzurumee Youth Assembly”. The group has formed a parallel leadership to the parent body, thus constituting nuisance and instigating breach of peace in the zone.

In a petition signed by Comrade Christian Okolie as President and Chibuike Odunze as National Publicity Secretary, dated July 24,2019 the group which describes itself as “authentic and registered”, warned of imminent breach of peace should the disgruntled elements continue to impersonate the Assembly and go ahead to organize a general election already scheduled for July 27, 2019.

The authentic OYA, called on the State Commissioner of Police to caution the politicians mentioned in the petition and use his good office to call the disgruntled group to order and stop them from further dragging the name of the Assembly to the mud.

They also called on the public to disregard and discountenance with the activities and programmes of the illegitimate group, especially the purported July 27, 2019 general election as it is not to the knowledge of the leadership of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly except for those who desperately want to make the Organization an offshoot of their political party(s).

They accused an Ex-Governor(Namewitheld) and Uche Nwosu of fueling and sponsoring the crisis in the Assembly for selfish reasons.
