The leading socio-cultural organization in Orlu zone, the Orluzurumee People Assembly has expressed its confidence in the appointment of one of its sons, Chief Mayor Eze, as the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

The group disclosed this at the State Secretariat, Owerri when their leaders paid a courtesy visit to the former Imo ALGON Chairman and Orlu Council boss, Chief Mayor Eze, to show their solidarity.

Speaking during the visit, the President of Orluzurumee, Engr. Chime Nzeribe, stated that the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Mayor Eze has all it takes to transform the Local Government system in the State, going by his antecedents and track record of experience acquired during his tenure, as the Local Government Chairman of Orlu LGA. Engr. Nzeribe maintained that Mayor Eze, had earlier distinguished himself both as the former LGA Chairman of Orlu and as the ALGON chairman in the State during his time in office.

The group used the opportunity to thank the Governor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha for appointing Mayor Eze as his Special Assistant.

In his response,Mayor Eze, thanked Orluzurumee for sending a high powered delegation to interact with him. He averred that he will do everything possible to improve the Local government system in Imo State, if only to ensure that the third tier of government is functional and effective. Eze also assured all Imolites that the Local government System is on the part of growth in line with the Rebuild Imo Agenda. He maintained that he will remain a symbol of good governance and leadership most especially in the area of repositioning the Local government system in the State.

In his contribution, Dr. Chris Eziobu, urged Chief Eze not to relent while discharging his duties. He reminded the Governor on the need to consider more Orlu sons and daughters in his future appointments, owing to the fact that Orlu zone played a major role in his emergence as the Governor of the State.

Present at courtesy visit were the former Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Douglas Acholonu, HRH Eze Prof. Dele Ebigbo, Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie,Chief Marshal Okoroafor Anyanwu, Prof Ben Ekwueme and a host of other leaders of Orluzurumee.
