Comrade Uchenna Sunday Nwokeji, has emerged the President of the Progressive Alumni Association of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
This was the outcome of the National Convention of the Alumni, which took place at Port Harcourt, Rivers State,recently.
Announcing the result of the elections into various National Executive Committee (NEC) offices at the end of the convention, Anih, Justice Onye-Kaozulu, who officiated as the National Convention Committee Chairman, declared Comrade Nwokeji elected as National President.
While giving his acceptance speech at the venue,he said that his emergence is a demonstration of the faith and confidence, that other members of the Progressive Alumni Association of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Association repose in him, following what they see as his leadership capacity, charisma and doggedness. Before his emergence as the National President of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Progressive Alumni Association, Nwokeji had served the Alumni Association in various capacities.

Available record has it that Nwokeji as at the time of their convention, an executive of Owerri Sports Club and had served as elected Treasurer, SSANU, FUTO Branch, member of the Zonal Executive Council of SSANU (ZEC),South East Member of the National Executive Council (NEC) and Vice-President of Owerri Sport Club.
