Leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State have bemoaned the rising disunity among party leaders in the area owing to the greed for power by the party Chairman, Chief Emeka Ihenacho, who they said cares less about the welfare and interest of others, except himself and family. He was equally accused of using his contacts in Government House Owerri to frustrate other leaders in the party.
Speaking to our reporter at Umuaka over the weekend, a prominent party leader from the area who doesn’t want his name in prints disclosed that the local government area has two blocks; Njaba and Nnenasa and positions are expectedly shared between the two blocks but unfortunately, every position that comes to Nnenasa is usually grabbed with two hands by the party Chairman, Chief Emeka Ihenacho, thereby frustrating other leaders of the party who had invested so much to ensure that Senator Hope Uzodinma’s emerged Governor of Imo state.
Other APC stalwarts in the area have consequently accused Chief Ihenacho of suffocating the party in Njaba, stating that no one person owns a party or appropriates every benefit or appointment that comes to the area.
They complained bitterly that at present, Ihenacho who is from Amucha community is presently occupying the following positions; Sen. Hope Uzodinma’s coordinator from 2011 till date, APC Chairman Njaba from 2018 till date, Member road projects monitoring committee Imo state, ENTRACO Coordinator for Njaba and other positions.
Apart from occupying the position of Chairman of APC in Njaba, Ihenacho is desperately struggling for the position of T.C from which position he hopes to contest Executive Chairman of Njaba LGA. It would therefore infer that without Chief Emeka Iheanacho, there would be no APC in Njaba and other members are worthless.
This spirit of greed and monopoly as revealed, has given party leaders of the area concern as they are planning a protest march to Government House or in the alternative write to the Governor over this evil plot by Ihenacho to kill APC in Njaba.
The last straw that broke the cammel’s back was Chief Emeka Ihenacho’s declaration to contest for the forthcoming Local Government Chairmanship position and has started intimidating Ward Chairmen of APC in Njaba LGA with discordant tune with plans to remove them should they fail to support his ambition to become executive chairman of the Local government.
