Coalition of Awarra ,Ochia,Assa and Obile Court Area Denies Passing Vote of Confidence on Orie
…Vows to shut down Oil facilities if Governor fails to grant request
A group under the aegis of Coalition of Awarra ,Ochia,Assa and Obile Autonomous Communities  made-up of respected youths and leaders of ,the Oil Producing Community in Awarra Court Area of Ohaji-Egbema LGA has denied passing a vote of confidence on Chief Charles Orie , one of the leaders from a none core oil producing autonomous community in the area.
The forum during the Meeting in Owerri at the weekend, accused the chairman of the forum ,HRH Eze Ekweme Paulinus Ekweme who they said would have been their hero for playing double standard by turning around to betray the group with a fraudulent vote of confidence.
Reacting on the development, the TC member of Asa Obile ward ,Hon Stanley Onyeriukadescribed as fraudulent  the purported vote of confidence on Chief Orie  linked to it .
He said , “I was never intimated even though i came a bit late for the meeting and I never gave my consent. Its an offence for any one to use my name and  signature in a newspaper publication without my consent . I’m taking the matter up to ensure the perpetrator doesn’t go away with it “.
Another Stakeholder from  Asa Community who’s signature was allegedly forged ,Comrade Collins Orunwa, said ,”our stand is that the Managing Director of the Commission MUST or SHALL come from and be an indigene of Oil Producing Autonomous Community of a Local Government Area in Imo State ,Awarra Court area to be precise.
He said ,”We have suffered enough marginalization and have resolved to stop at nothing in driving home our demand which shall include but not limited to legal actions shutting down of all oil wells/facilities within all our communities of Awarra, Ochia, Assa and Obile (Awarra Court Area) in the event that your excellency goes ahead to appoint anyone from a none core oil producing autonomous community as the incoming managing director .”
“we make bold to refresh your memories as our two times Senator that in the Ohaji divide of the Oil Rich Ohaji/Egbema L.G.A, it is only the Awarra Court Area that produces oil which has fulfilled the requirements of the law establishing the commission.””It s further an understatement to bring to the notice of the governor that Awarra Court Area are usually and always marginalized and worst is denying us of even our God given entitlements of the commission.””It is on record that since the establishment of this commission, the Awarra Court Area has never had any meaningful benefits of its establishment. Ranging from notable projects, employment to appointment of the commission not to talk of the exclusive reserve of the Chairmanship and Managing Directorship which we ought to have had and be sharing on rotation with our Egbema Brothers each time it comes to Ohaji/Egbema L.G.A.”
“The also wish to bring to the notice of Gov Uzodinma that the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission: was established in pursuant to the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission Law No. 13 of 2010 Herein called “THE LAW”.”That the above law sited was very apt and clear in the constitution of members of the commission vis a viz who should come from where section 7(1) 74 (11) of the above law clearly stated that the Chairman and Managing Director of the Commission MUST or SHALL come from and be an indigene of Oil Producing Autonomous Community of a Local Government Area in Imo State”Also speaking ,the Special Adviser to the House of Reps Member, Ho China Nduku insisted that the forum had not met to deliberate on the issue of endorsement or any vote of confidence. We don’t want anything that will bring the name of the forum to diesrepute by doing what will take away our credibility,” he said.He said it is sad to hear that HRH Eze Ekweme Paulinus Ekweme who would have been their lhero turn around to betray the group.
In his reaction to the allegation of betrayal and fraudulent vote of confidence to Chief Charles Ezekwem ,HRH Eze Ekweme paulinus Ekweme said the issue of appointment in every political settings is solely dependent on the relationship between the the appointee and the  governor of the state.
The respected monarch said” my reason of dropping our position along the line is the desire not to fight foolishly. I discovered that there was a known deceit and power play among two of our great sons  that are very close to  Gov Hope Uzodinma and I feel its better to settle for somebody close instead of allowing it elude us area completely.
