A group in Imo State under the aegis of “Hopism Movement” has disclosed its readiness to support the present administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma, in its efforts to alleviate poverty as well as create wealth for all sons and daughters of the state through the Shared prosperity government. 

Addressing newsmen during a press conference in Owerri, the convener of the group Evang. Myke Ikoku stated that HOPISM is an ideology driven by Imo sons and daughters who are volunteers, self-sponsored to help reach out to the masses on the shared prosperity mission of His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodinma with the objective to ensure the infrastructural and human capital development of the state. 

The Covener Evang. Ikoku, explained that HOPISM simply means where “governance meets the people” which gives the opportunity to harness talents and passion of young people most especially providing access to government opportunities and as well reach out directly to the people to ensure all empowerment programs and other benefits get to the rightful people it is meant for.

He stated that the membership cuts across the twenty seven LGA’s in the state and that those to benefit from the empowerment program must be firm believers in the shared prosperity and also registered “HOPISM” members who must be following up with its social media platforms.

The Spokesperson and convener of HOPISM Movement hinted that the empowerment exercise will begin with the first three LGAs with one from each of the three zones in the state, namely Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu zones. He stressed that the method of selection will be based on local government of origin in any zone with the highest number of registered members. Following this, Ngor Okpala will be the first port of call on 12th September 2020 and thereafter there will be an open raffle draw where names of people from the LGA that outnumbers others will be selected randomly and those that will emerge from the raffle draw will be shortlisted as beneficiaries of the empowerment program. 

He enumerated the various items for empowerment to include industrial grinder for (tomato, pepper etc), sewing machines, car washer, mobile chemical spray for farmers, makeup box with makeup kits, clippers, hair dryer, vulcanizer, manual popcorn machine and a host of other items. 

Evang. Myke Ikoku further disclosed that there will be a proper monitoring and follow up of all activities of every beneficiaries and subsequently a second phase of the empowerment which is financial empowerment will take place after six months of the first and only those that must have shown commitment to that which was earlier given to them will qualify for the second round of the empowerment. 

He called on the good people of Imo State to seize this wonderful opportunity provided by the shared prosperity government of Gov Hope Uzodinma to foster and build the Imo State that everyone will be proud of anytime, any day.
