The Senior Special Assistant, SSA to Governor Hope Uzodinma on Students Affairs, Hon.Comr.Franklyn Oparaji, has paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of Imo State Polytechnic, Sir.Okechukwu John Mbadike.


Addressing Newsmen shortly after the visit yesterday, the SSA, Oparaji said that the aim of the visit to the Rector of Imo State Polytechnic is to seek strong synergy between the State Government and the Polytechnic.
Oparaji said the visit is targeted at synergize in strengthening the security of lives and properties of Imo Students and to ensure stability and  harmony between the security operatives, the management of institution and students of the Polytechnic.
Oparaji disclosed that the Governor is committed to securing lives and properties of Imo Students.


He noted that the visit is to effectively seek peace between the host communities and the students of the Polytechnic.
The high point of the visit was presentation of award of recognition to the Rector,Sir Mbadike by the leadership of the “National Association of Imo State Students,  NAISS” led by the President, Comr.Tochi Anyaoha.According to NAISS, the award is in appreciation of Rector’s  kind gestures as the Pillar of Support to all the students of Imo State.

Speaking on the award, the SSA, Hon.Franklyn pointed out that the presentation of award to the Rector by National Association of Imo State Students , NAISS indicates the long standing cordiality that exists between the students and the rector and the desire to deepen the relationship.
Other students groups present are;representatives of the  National Association of Nigerian Student, NANS and National Association of Polytechnic Student,NAPS represented by its  Vice President,  amongst other respected students leaders in Imo State.

Responding,immediately after his award,  the Rector of Imo Poly, Sir.John Okechukwu Mbadike, expressed delight to be honoured by the Students Association.
He therefore appreciated the Governor for paying them 100% of their salary, even as he disclosed the Polytevhnic is  working towards adhering to the NCDC Covid-19 protocols as schools reopens.
Rector Mbadike stated that the school management is ready and poised to support the Governor’s policies especially as it concerns the 3R’s mantra of Shared Prosperity Government.


The Rector assured of synergy between the students,  security agencies and host communities.
He equally appreciated the delegates of  NAISS and the office of the SSA for coming to honour him.
