A formidable group which membership cuts across the 27 local government areas of Imo State, EziadaImo Association, early this week,upon discovering that the Publisher of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper  and former Candidate of United Progressive Party, UPP in the 2019 election, Comrade Precious Nwadike is back to Owerri after he was flown to Lagos for treatment visited the Newspaper’s head office in Owerri in solidarity.

Speaking during the visit, the president of the group EziadaImo, Lady Bisi Anyaehie maintained that the attack on the journalist, Nwadike was uncalled for and urged the governor to investigate the allegation and caution his brother if found culpable.

Continuing, group, comprising mostly, technocrats, academics and professionals said, that as concerned mothers and women of Imo origin, they will continue to advocate for peace as no meaningful achievement or development can be made under a turbulent situation as presently experienced in Imo.They used the opportunity to call on the political leaders to stop heating up the polity and be more concerned on delivery of dividends of democracy to Imo people.

The group pledged to support the government of Imo state in all its well thought out programs that are designed to ameliorate the sufferings of the people,especially the youths and women.

Prominent among the delegation that visited Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper office, is a United Kingdom(UK) trained media guru and Director of Information of EziadaImo Assoiciation, Lady  Lady kelechi otuonye who highlighted the aims and objectives of the group, saying that over the years, Imo women though participate actively in the democratic process but end up as backbenchers.

According to her, one of the programs the Eziada Imo has instituted is to raise awareness against money politics and unnecessary praise singing, adding that the era of women going about singing for politicians at campaign rallies as major role is gone. She said all over the world, women are agents of change and their roles can’t not be over emphasized.

It would be recalled that Nwadike was on the 9th of February, 2021 attacked by thugs alleged to be loyal to one Mr Uche Uzodinma, brother to the governor of Imo state on his way to OCDA office for data capturing for National Identity Number.
