The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Imo State Chapter, has congratulated Amb. Hon Ijeoma Arimanwa Obiezu on her recent appointment as an Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and subsequent posting to the Republic of Ireland.

This was contained in a press release signed by the Chairperson of NAWOJ, in the state Barr Vivian Ottih. 

The NAWOJ Chairperson described Amb. Obiezu as a thorough breed, courageous and hardworking woman, who has made tremendous positive impact among women in Nigerian politics. 

According to Ottih, Amb. Obiezu’s foray into politics, though not without challenges, can be described as a journey accomplished by grace which according to her should serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement to younger politicians especially the womenfolks.

Barr. Ottih said “Amb. Obiezu has been a great leader who is constantly in touch with the masses at the national, state and at the grassroots, endearing her to everyone and crowning her efforts with the title of “IGOLO NWANYI. In her days as Transition Committee Chairman of Ideato North Local government Area, Amb. Ijeoma’s leadership style was exemplary and has remained a reference point. “Her systematic approach of addressing negative influence among youths of the area by placing indigent undergraduates on scholarship further earned her recognition as “NNE UMUAKWUKWO IDEATO. Indigent men and women were also not left out in her empowerment programs.”

Continuing, Ottih noted that, Amb. Ijeoma Obiezu has served the country in different capacities, including, Transition Committee  member, Ideato North L.G.A, pioneer secretary, All Progressive  Congress, Ideato North L.G.A, Transition Committee chairman Ideato North LGA, Deputy Chairman Board of Internal Revenue (BIR), Special Assistant to the governor on General Duties, member of  several federal government boards and currently, as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ireland.
