A non political group known as Imo compatriots for good governance is scheduled to hold its summit on March 31st at the Villa Garden Event Centre Owerri. 

Speaking to newsman in a press conference, the spokesman of the group, Chief Joe Mbama said the aim of the summit is to urge the present administration led by Sen. Hope Uzodinma to implement the reports of the white paper and the recovery of the Loots from the past administrations in Imo State.

He noted that the Govt should not thwart the recovery of the state common patrimony.

Continuing, he maintained that the citizens of the state should be made to realize that the government own a duty to implement the white paper without fear or favour.

He stated that the theme of the topic is on “Recovery of looted Imo Assets from Sen. Rochas Okorocha, his relatives and cronies”.

Mbama disclosed that a communiqué will be released and sent to the governor for necessary actions and reactions.

He noted that if the measure is usually taken, politicians will be scared to loot because if they are aware that they will be held accountable they will know how to manage the scarce resources of the state.

He pointed that the former statement credited to the former governor of Imo state Sen. Rochas Okorocha that he is richer than the state is foul knowing the state of Imo economy. Hence the need for the summit  as he explained that notable  Imo citizens has decided to pressure the governor into recovery of the looted resources of the state as stated by the white paper report by the committee of recovery set up by the immediate past governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

The event will feature guest speakers like Dr. Sam Amadi, former chairman of Electricity Regulatory Commission, Prof. Protus Uzoma, Dr. Cash Onunuju amongst others. Chief Barr Dan Nwanyanwu, chairman Zenith Labour Party will be the chairman of the occasion.
