Calls for cordial working relation with Nigerians abroad

A Chieftain of Orluzurumee, the apex social cultural group of Orlu people, of  Imo State, Chief Calistus Ifunanya Eze who doubles as the President General of Orluzurumee in Germany has felicitated with the newly appointed Ambassadors by the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government.


Speaking to our correspondent on phone,from his base in Germany , Chief Eze used the opportunity to laud President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing reputable individuals to serve as Ambassadors in different countries of the world. 


It could be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari in May 2020 forwarded list of ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.Subsequently, on 14th January 2021 gave approval for them to be posted out to Nigerian Missions abroad.


The list was made up of 43 career ambassadors and 52 non- career ambassadors among whom is Her Excellency Lady Ijeoma Chinyerem Obiezu , an Imo State indigene.Currently, they have all been deployed to different Nigerian Missions abroad. 


Speaking further, Chief Eze reminded them to take their assignments serious by ensuring the interest of all Nigerians in their place of assignment is adequately covered. He opined that some Nigerians living abroad are lamenting over stringent and sluggish  immigration policies like renewal of passport and other challenges they are facing abroad. 


He urged the newly posted ambassadors to support and as well identify with all Nigerians residing in their various places of assignment to ensure they succeed in their legitimate works and businesses and by extension contribute to the Nation building. 


The Orluzurumee President General in Germany also disclosed that many Nigerians abroad have all it takes to develop Nigeria,stressing that what they need is a conducive environment from Nigeria government to make it happen. 


Chief Calistus Ifunanya Eze charged the ambassadors to ensure promotion of  Nigerian value system by carrying along Nigerians abroad, he thereby congratulated them and as well wished them a successful tenure in office.
