Barely few days after the conduct and conclusion of the Anambra state governorship election, the Imo state governor, Hope uzodinma has assured Imolites in diaspora of their safety and urged them to return home for this year’s Christmas festival to have a taste and witness the rapid development he has made in the state especially in the area of road construction and rehabilitation.

He enjoined them not to believe the false propaganda being peddled by those he referred to as enemies about insecurity saying that the insecurity in the state is now under control, though there were reported attacks and bonfire a week ago at Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma and Obowo.“When you come home, you will be amazed at the massive road construction and rehabilitation which has been carried out by my administration in less than two years,” said Mr Uzodimma. “We have introduced ‘the people’s budget’, which enables town unions to advise the government on what their people actually need, and these are actually included in the budget.”

The governor gave the assurance at the 2021 Imo Cultural Day celebrations, organized by the Imo Towns Development Association, Lagos (ISTDAL).
Mr Uzodimma, represented by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, praised members of the association for promoting Imo cultural heritage in Lagos.

He advised the indigenes not to listen to propaganda and fabricated social media publications about the security situation in the state, adding that the situation had been brought under control.

He also urged them to visit home regularly to appraise the level of development in the state and promised to host the executive members of the association during the yuletide.
