·        Gives 30 days ultimatum for his reinstatement 

The Mbaitoli Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at a recent meeting held at the Amaukwu Orodo residence of Rt Hon Henry Nwawuba passed a vote of implicit confidence on the embattled lawmaker representing Mbaitoli state constituency in the Imo House of Assembly and former Deputy Speaker of the house, Rt Hon Okey Onyekanma and gave the leadership of the Imo House, a 30 day ultimatum to reinstate the suspended lawmaker to resume his legislative duties and representation of his constituency.

The motion of vote confidence later endorsed by 14 members from all the PDP wards of Mbailoti described the suspension of their lawmaker as vindictive, a political presentation  with no good reasons for the suspension as the legislator has been giving good account of himself.

The party insisted that the suspension of Mbaitoli representative was a “political persecution and that the reasons adduced, were neither here nor there.”

According to them, Onyekanma  has always conducted himself in a manner worthy of the people of his constituency and their culture and that Mbaitoli people are proud of him.

Moving a resounding motion for vote of confidence which was unanimously endorsed, the chairman of PDP, Mbaitoli LGA –  Hon. Agu Ozims, said that “ndi Mbaitoli would continue to support the star lawmaker – Onyekanma, despite political victimization.
