The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, popularly known as Samdaddy has stated that the party will be fair to everyone in the 2023.

The erstwhile Senate Committee Chairman on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions noted that the PDP does not belong to any individual; hence any person who is interested in contesting any elective position is free to declare his interest and throw his hat in the ring.

Anyanwu who stated this while hosting Newspaper Publishers, Editors and other stakeholders in his Amaimo, Ikeduru country home over the weekend also expressed concern over the deplorable state of affairs in the country stressing that the All Progressive Congress (APC) “which came to power through blackmail, has taken Nigeria 20 years backwards.”

“The alarming rate of insecurity in the country has assumed a frightening dimension. It is unfortunate that Nigeria now shares sovereignty with bandits and terrorists who now operate freely, kidnapping, unlawful arrest, detention and extra-judicial killing of innocent citizens have become the norm and not an exception.

“The Abuja-Kaduna, Abuja-Niger and Abuja-Lokoja roads that are less than 2 hours drive have become danger zones as anyone plying them is on a suicidal mission. He will either be kidnapped, maimed or killed by bandits. Yet the government despite rhetoric’s has been unable to rise up to the challenge and nip the situation in the bud.”

He further lamented that exchange rate has skyrocketed with attendant socio-economic problems and challenges. The Dollar and Pound Sterling are currently exchanged at the rate of 500 and 800 respectively as against what they were when the President Jonathan-led PDP government was at the helm of affairs.

He urged the media Chiefs to work in synergy with the main opposition political party in the country to change the narrative and restore the lost glory of our state and country.

Anyanwu also expressed dismay that if concrete steps are not taken to remedy the situation, it will become an ill wind that will blow no one good.

“Our children yet unborn will be furious at us on hearing that we didn’t do the needful when our dear country was collapsing under the pressure exerted by corruption, kidnapping, killing of innocent youths and other vices perpetrated by the APC-led government at the state and federal levels.
