Former Governor of Imo State, now senator representing Imo west, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has asked Governor Hope Uzodinma to produce those responsible for the killing of Ahmed Gulak, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside other victims of gruesome murder and kidnapping in the state. He berated the governor for failing to call the names of those sponsoring criminal activities at the Imo Stakeholders meeting, as promised.

Okorocha made this known yesterday while briefing newsmen at his Spibat residence, in the Imo State capital. He  stated that the governor had become inconsistent in his governance style  through dishonesty and certain acts that trivialize security issues in the state.

He further accused him of manning a strike force, headed by his Adviser on Special Duties, Chinasa Nwaneri who he said heads “Ebube Agu”, the regional security outfit in the state. He alleged that Imo government spearheaded the abduction  of his Son-in Law, Uche Nwosu, and began to  tell divergent stories at the security offices in Abuja after the arrest of a certain Shaba, who is said to be the Chief Security Officer at Imo government house.

According to Okorocha, Uzodinma has never been consistent with stories he tells to Imo people and what he tells the presidency, “What he says in Abuja is different from what he says here. It has been a style of his government”.

He stated that “the questions still remains, Mr Governor, who killed Gulak? Mr Governor, who is responsible for those dead bodies found? Who killed those traditional rulers? Who beheaded all these number of people? Who sent for the abduction of Uche Nwosu?….”

He continued by revealing  that Uzodinma has set up what he called, “Hopism strike force”, (HSF)”, which he said comprises of “the army, which were not deployed by the Chief of Army Staff, the Air Force, which were not also authorised  by Chief of Air Staff, the police and his Special Adviser, now in-charge of ‘Ebube AGU”, his personal security body guard”, adding that the combination of these illegal security outfits  were responsible for arresting his son-in-law.

“Hope himself is the chairman of this HSF. His responsibility is to deal with matters in Abuja, and do whatever he can do and influence whoever he can influence. Then he is backed up by the Attorney General and some people in the judiciary

Recall that Nwosu was recently arrested by security operatives while at a thanksgiving service at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Umunwokwe Village after the burial of his mother, Jemaimah Adaeze Nwosu in his home town, Eziama-Obaire in Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state.

Videos of the incident showed that armed men stormed the church premises shooting sporadically in the air and interrupting the service, leading to tons of criticisms by different organizations and individuals.

The state government denied involvement in the arrest.

However, Okorocha, proposed that finding out the perpetrators of the murder of Gulak, and that of the arrest of Uche Nwosu, will lead to discovering those responsible for the recent murderous activities and abductions in the state.

Governor Uzodinma however failed to name the sponsors of criminals in the state at the Imo Stakeholders forum held yesterday at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers, Government house, Owerri after promising to reveal the names they had gotten from investigations.

He said the decision to withhold the names was in a bid to allow the security agents continue with their investigations.
