“The duties, responsibilities and oversight functions of excutive governor demand that those who strive or aim to occupy such exalted position should be equipped with sound intellectual and professional competence in addition to innate wisdom and stable mind”.
The above view was expressed by concerned citizens of Imo elders,CCIE led by Chief Fred Nwankwo, who spoke to this reporter in Owerri,yesterday.
The group noted that Ehime Mbano born Attorney Charles Onyirimba, an erudite lawyer of international repute who has thorough knowledge and understanding of law, politics, economy and the controversies surrounding the 68 clauses in the Executive Legislative list is a guru when it comes to leadership and grassroots mobilization.
According to them,the possession of these qualities are particularly of cardinal importance in Imo State that has experienced poor representation since the leadership of Sam Mbakwe, adding that Imo State needs to be Transformed to a better place.
They argued that,”If the State is ready to address the often poor governance leading to infrastructural decay which has deprived the masses so much, it is pertinent to ensure that only the best and most qualified in terms of capacity, focus and people-oriented attributes are given the peoples’ mandate to represent them in the next election.
“The U.S. based Lawyer will implore his wealth of experience in meeting the demands of the people and among other measures to achieve the implementation of projects that will impact positively on the state and country.
“Aside his impeccable track record, administrative ingenuity and leadership acumen, Attorney Charles Onyirimba’s antecedents,socio-economic development and progress of the Igbo nation which he has championed and advocated over the years stands him out. This, if considered will no doubt result in the comprehensive transformation of Imo State and Nigeria at Large”.
They called on Attorney Charles Onyirimba to harken to the plight of Imolites and take up the challenge to lead Imo to the promise Land.
Feelers from some arrow heads of Imo Transformation Agenda indicate that their Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba if called to serve the state will focus on the peoples mandate by initiating well researched and articulated people-oriented policy, and development that will secure jobs and boost human capacity
