A frontline businessman and Chairman of Vinpat group of companies, Chief Victor Nwanaforo in an interactive session with media executives in Owerri over the weekend said that the Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma has performed creditably as regards dispensing the dividends of democracy to the people.

The business mogul, who unlike other industrialists has branches of virtually all his business concerns in the state, urged Imo people to support the governor’s 3R administration to encourage him to do more.

The Ideato South, local government area born philanthropist noted that, “this is the first time that the roads that link the state capital Owerri with Okigwe and Orlu zones are being given attention by government , using  reputable construction companies that are poised to deliver quality jobs that will stand the test of time.

Nwanaforo said,”there is no doubt that Gov. Uzodinma is a silent achiever who delights in his performance speaking for him rather than engaging in rhetorics. That is why most people don’t seem to know that he is on a mission to transform the state and restore its lost glory, despite all odds. This is a laudable landmark achievement that is worthy of commendation.”

“It is only a visionary leader who is committed to the welfare of the people and development of the state that will exhibit the kind of courage, capacity and prudence in the disbursement of resources the way Senator Uzodinma has done since he emerged as governor of the state.

“I therefore use this medium to call on Imolites at home and in the Diaspora to shun sentiments and destructive criticism and support the governor. This will encourage and motivate him to do more for the people who will also benefit more.”

On insecurity which has become a topical issue, Nwanaforo said, all hands should be on deck towards addressing the menace which according to him is not peculiar to Imo.He applauded the governor for his efforts in addressing  the situation . “The state belongs to all of us. If it is insecure all of us will be affected in one way or the other. Those fanning the embers of insecurity, discord and disunity in the state should desist forthwith because nobody will be excluded from the menace of the ill-wind that blows no one good.”

Continuing, he said, “I have known the governor for a long time as a very peaceful and compassionate person who sincerely cares about the overall welfare of his people. It is therefore not in his nature to fold his hands and watch while people go through hell.”

When asked if he has any political ambition, the Ideato South born boardroom player and seasoned entrepreneur said his major concern now, is to support and encourage  the governor to succeed in his determination to transform Imo State, pointing out that, “no doubt, there have been clarion calls for him to represent his people in any capacity, but  would speak on that in due course”.
