The President of Imo State Amalgamated Markets and Traders Association, ISAMATA,Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie has washed his hands off alleged double award of contract in Orlu International Market.

Hon. Ezeanochie who spoke to our correspondent at his State Secretariat Office,New Owerri yesterday flayed a recent media report claiming that he(Ezeanochie) fingered in a contract allegedly awarded to one Airclass Contractor by Imo State Government through Ministry of Commerce and Industry during the reign of Hon. Barr. Kingsley Ononuju as the Commissioner describing the publication as the imagination of the author.

He narrated that the State Government had earlier shopped for an investor who can elevate Orlu International Market Master Office to a storey building,a situation that brought in the said Airclass Contractor who later abandoned the project after extorting money from traders.

According to him, the sorry stage of the project prompted him to request that Airclass Contractor should present evidence showing that the contract was duly awarded to him which he never shown. “Because my duty is to ensure that our markets get to best standard,I approached State Government and approval was given to a reputable company that has started the project with intention of completing it on or before first week of next month.

The contract was not given to Governor Hope Uzodimma’s sister as alleged by the publication. Our mission is to make sure we get everything done right.

The Chairman of Airclass Contractor has apologized to me. Members of the general public should disregard the publication. We are working hands-in-glove to ensure that the present administration in Imo State led by Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma succeeds. Uzodimma’s Government just donated 500 bags of rice to Imo traders, and we are very much appreciative.

I have attracted 500 buildings from Federal Mortgage Bank for Imo Traders Estate through instrumentality of Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration. So,all we owe him is total support”, the ISAMATA President submitted.
