The gulf in the hierarchy of the leading opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, aftermath of the presidential primaries with political intrigues it appears that Governor Nyesom Wike’s camp which lost out during the primaries seem to be gaining grounds following Wike’s posturing  and conditions to support Atiku while the position of the party in Imo state is rife with uncertainty.

In Imo, the struggle is who is in control of the party structure between the former governor Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and the national secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy).

While this is going on, the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) is back to Imo state not to plan how to return  reinstate the  former governor,  His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha (Ome Nke-Ahuruanya) but to set up a structure  to pursue  his governorship ambition as supporters.

Followers of the former governor are seriously making plans and nursing the idea of returning Ihedioha to Imo government House to complete his one tenure of four years and execute his plans for Imo state.

It was reported that Senator Anyanwu over the weekend convened a meeting in his house in Imo state capital Owerri where he told his teeming supporters that he is more than ever ready and prepared for the governorship seat of Imo state and for the 2023 election.

For emphasis and to give  credence to his ambition Senator Anyanwu announced the appointment of a seasoned Imo politician, Hon Ngozi Ogbu as the Director General  of his campaign team while another Mbaise born seasoned politician,Gozie Nwachukwu was appointed the secretary general of the organization. With this, the two party stalwarts are ready to battle the APC governor Senator Hope Uzodinma.

As PDP party supporters in Imo are queuing behind  the two prominent lawmakers , there are speculations that Governor Wike of Rivers State is backing Samadaddy to stop Ihedioha and this may be one of the jokers he will throw at Atiku to carry his support.

Another source told this reporter that Smadaddy may be the next PDP National Chairman, if by chance, senator  iyorcha Ayu resigns. With this, there seems to be another  horse riding.

While Samadaddy is pushing forward, Ihedioha is not resting on his oars as his alliance with the national executive will always save the day for him.

As the race for governorship seat of Imo state bubbles, Imo state PDP hoping that the All Progressives Congress and Senator Hope Uzodinma may be willing to vacate the seat in Douglas House.
