Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council PCC on Sunday November, 18, 2022 inaugurated its students arm at the party’s PCC office along MCC Road, Owerri with a view to further strengthen its support base among students and youths.

Speaking onbehalf of Ochoudo Martin Agbaso, his Special Adviser and head of Admin, Hon Speedwell Onyewuotu, explained that his Principal, Agbaso who was unavoidably absent was tied down by other pressing engagements that needed his attention.

He advised the students to take their assignment serious, stressing that the essence of their inauguration was to ensure that they take the unique and issue based campaign of Labour Party and Peter Obi to all the nooks and crannies of the State. He added that the emergence of Peter Obi as the President of Nigeria, come 2023, will be the dawn of a new and glorious era of restoration and transformation in all spheres.

Onyewuotu noted that the inauguration which was earlier scheduled to take place on Saturday was shifted to Sunday because a prominent son of the State, Chief Leo Eki celebrated his birthday.

‘’If Peter Obi becomes the next President of this country Nigerians will heave sighs of relief because his programmes and policies will transform, reposition and restore the lost glory of our dear country in all ramifications’’.

Continuing, he said, ‘’it is absolutely difficult for a nation to move forward without good and focused leadership. And this has been the problem with Nigeria which Peter Obi’s emergence will definitely address and correct with precision’’.

Reacting, to the speech in his capacity as Coordinator of the students’ arm, Comrade Paschal Arinze Chibueze, who was inaugurated alongside other members of his executive said, ‘’Imo State to the best of my knowledge is for Peter Obi. We are mobilizing and will continue to mobilize and sensitize the electorate on the need to vote for Peter Obi and other members of Labour Party during the 2023 general elections’’.

‘’We will also do our best to ensure that our votes count. We are not ignorant of the fact that politicians deliberately create or induce hardship a time like this to make the masses vulnerable. But the people have become wiser. Hence it is now difficult to hoodwink anybody no matter the pressure exerted on him or her, directly or indirectly’’.

The Director of Media, Peter Obi Campaign Organization, in Imo State, OZ Akuaka commended the level of organization and awareness among the students. He urged them to remain focused and resolute in their support for Labour Party ‘’and the emergence of a new Nigeria of our collative dream’’.

He expressed confidence in the students’ ability to absorb shocks and face attendant challenges.
