2023 Election: Fear Grips Imo APC Candidates Over BVAS Reports

Initially, the All Progressive Congress APC, frustrated the efforts of candidates of the opposition political parties to access reports of the BVAS machines. But armed with the mandate of the court to get reports of the BVAS from the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, most of the reports are revealing and expository to the conduct of the election.

In Imo State where the ruling, All progressive Congress claimed to won all the 27 State House of Assembly seats, it was discovered that there was no accreditation in most places and election was not conducted in some places.

In those places the APC claimed to have won, the BVAS reports showed massive over voting and outright rigging.

For instance, in Orlu where the party claimed to have conducted election in all the wards and won the election, it was found that in Orsu clan one of the component parts of Orlu local government with 7 wards where they claimed election was conducted and they won in all the booths, BVS reports showed that election was only held in four wards of Amaifeke and three polling booths of Ohaeke Okporo.

With the Supreme Court judgment on Osun State in favour of Adeleke which shows that only BVAS report is mandatory in the last election, this has worsened the situation for APC candidates who have become jittery.
