History has repeated its self as the Member, representing Owerri West State constituency, Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi (Dele) who was Majority Leader of the 9th Imo State House of Assembly has been re-appointed as Majority Leader of the 10th Assembly amidst cheers from leader in his constituency.

Following his emergence, after the announcement by the Speaker, Hon Chike Olemgbe on the floor of the House, the assembly complex erupted with joy as his colleagues, staff of the Assembly and leaders from his community, Oforola and Owerri West Local Government Area in general jubilated for what they referred to as reward for job well done.

Hon Onyemaechi who later addressed the press, described his emergence as a repeat of history in Imo State. He expressed gratitude to the Speaker, his colleagues and Governor Hope Uzodinma for finding him worthy to once again occupy the exalted position.

He noted that the core mandate of a legislator is making laws that will enhance the welfare of the people whose mandate he holds in trust, adding that the legislative arm of government will work harmoniously with the executive to take the state to the next level of infrastructural, political and socio-economic development.

Onyemaechi, fondly called ‘’Egbe Eji Eje Ogu’’ by his constituents assured his people of quality and effective representation.

Some of those present at the occasion are, ‘’Sole Administrator of Owerri-West LGA, Hon Victor Osigwe, Hon Livy Oguike, Barr GAS Amadi, Chief Sir Fidel Onyeneke, Maazi Sabinus Ogbonna, Hon Osinachi Amako(No Vex) , Hon Victor Izuwa , Commodore Ogechi Osuagwu, Hon Chidi Ordu( Madoka), Chief Lister Okpe, Hon Humphrey Umunnakwe , Chief Bethel Nzimakor , Hon Obiyor Stephen Ekezie, Engr James Nnodi , Mrs Chinyere Ofurum 

The highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of heartland FC jersey to the Majority Leader in solidarity by a former Enyimba and Rangers FC player and scouting manager of Heartland FC, Mr Chimezie Amanfor and hosting of leaders of Owerri –West Local Government Area and other guests at De Angels Restaurant.
