• Group: Uzodinma Still In Hibernating In Abuja, Lagos

The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma has reportedly abandoned his official duties and absconded to Abuja, leaving the state and its residents at the mercy of unknown gunmen and operatives of Ebubeagu Security Network who have turned the once quiet and peaceful state into a theater of sorrow, tears and blood where sporadic gun shots erupt simultaneously in different directions without notice.

A Government House source who spoke to our correspondent in confidence, revealed that ‘’the Governor who has been shuttling between Abuja and Lagos in the past one month doing God knows what, had been overwhelmed by the frightening level of insecurity in the state which, he lacks the capacity to either address or nip completely in the bud’’.

‘’There have been reports of shootings, killings and maiming of innocent people in different parts of the state. The disturbing aspect of it all, is that the gunmen who are referred to as unknown, have become more daring, bold and audacious, as they were reportedly seen parading themselves at Akwakuma Junction and environ on Saturday, July 8, as they shot, harassed and physically attacked innocent citizens.

‘’As if that was not enough, a popular Owerri based businessman and owner of Jonny Supermarkets was kidnapped by yet to be identified gun men, who uptill the time of filing this report, have not reached out to his family. Neither has the victim been seen nor heard from.

The Election Petition Tribunal in Imo State was also relocated to Nassarawa as because of the frightening level of insecurity that culminated in threats to the lives of the Tribunal judges who had to apply for a change of venue to avoid being attacked y those who are scared of the outcome of a free, fair and credible election.

As if confirming that, other Imolites who expressed disappointment over the Governors continued stay in Abuja and Lagos, despite the bloody confusion that has enveloped the state in recent times said, the Governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma, as the Chief Security Officer of the state should be on ground, liasing with members of his executive and other stakeholder to brainstorm and articulate ideas on how to address the menace which seem to have defied all solutions proffered by his administration.

They described his actions and inactions in the midst of the alarming insecurity in the state, as the height of insensitivity for which the House of Assembly should under normal circumstance.
