The family of the Traditional ruler of Amazu autonomous community in Oru East Local Government Area, HRH, Eze C.A. Olewu who was reportedly abducted by members of Ebubeagu Security Network in May last year has neither been seen nor heard from him since then.

The Monarch, who according to his son is a traditionalist was accused of preparing charms for members of IPOB and its militant arm, the Eastern Security Network.

Some concerned members of the community who spoke to this reporter expressed concern that since the Eze was abducted, nobody has seen or heard from him, while all efforts to trace his whereabout proved abortive.

When contacted, the Monarch’s son confirmed the situation. He said, they have reported the matter to the police, the DSS and the Imo State Traditional institution and Community Policing under His Royal Majesty, Eze Emmanuel Okeke of Amaifeke Ancient Kingdom in Orlu L.G.A yet nothing has come out of it till date.

Responding to a question, the Town Union President who was in authority then, said operatives of Ebubeagu Security Network who came in a Toyota Hilux van, armed with pump action rifles whisked away the traditional ruler and his brother to unknown destination. And since then the whereabout of the traditional ruler has been unknown.

They called on the state government and relevant security agencies to unravel the mystery surrounding the Monarch’s abduction without trace.
