As the 2023 Oru Owere festival ended in grand style, a prominent indigene of Owere nchi ise and a renowned politician, Chief Chijioke  williams, has felicitated with the people of Owere nchi ise, urging them to remain in peace as one nation

Speaking with journalists during the grand finale of the agelong festival held last Saturday at Ugwu Ekwema Civic Center, Williams narrated the Origin, process and significance of Oru Owere, stressing that it is a time of celebration for Owere nchi ise people

He noted that during this period, all forms of quarrels or fighting are prohibited

According to the former Owerri Local Government Area boss, Owere people are descendants of Ekwema Arugo, who hails originally from Uratta.

He felicitated with the people and enjoined them not to bring disharmony as no meaningful development will be achieved in an atmosphere of rancour.

Williams, who contested for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in the last general elections, Commeded Governor Uzodinma for his support and developmental strides in the State.
