–         Describes Attack On Him As Minor Altercation

In a sudden twist of events, the member representing Orlu State constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Barr Martin Ihezuo, who was reportedly beaten to stupor by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Chinasa Nwaneri at the APC governorship campaign flag-off on Wednesday last week is said to have quietly gone to tender apology to the latter despite the humiliation, physical and emotional torture he was subjected to publicly.

A Government House source who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity said, “Ihezuo’s resolve o reconcile with Chinasa Nwaneri, despite having boasted that he will fight back, is linked to an alleged threat by Chinasa to compel the leadership of the House of Assembly to suspend him. Ihezuo, knowing that Chinasa Nwaneri wields overwhelming influence over the House, swallowed his pride and quickly apologized to Chinasa despite the humiliation he suffered”.

Confirming the information, Ihezuo, in a press statement he issued described what he had earlier said about how he was manhandled which the House of Assembly had deliberated on at plenary and resolved to meet the Governor to demand that Nwaneri be cautioned  as mere altercation.

The lawmaker, in the press statement which he personally signed said, “My dear friends and Orlu State Constituents, few days ago, there was a minor altercation between me and Nze Chinasa Nwaneri. I am glad to inform you all that the problem has been amicably resolved between us.

“However, it’s sad that some of my opponents had escalated this minor issue and had been using my photos to continue their defamation against me.

“Please ignore all their ranting and join me and all leaders of our great party APC in making sure that our dear God sent Governor His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma is re-elected come November 11, 2023”.

Recall, that Ihezuo, in an interview he granted to a journalist shortly after the incident on Wednesday, October, 11, described Chinasa as a wild dog”.
