– Mocks Imo Youths

In what many have described as taking sycophancy to a new dimension, the former member of the House of Representatives for Okigwe North federal constituency of Imo State, Hon Chike Okafor, has said that Governor Uzodinma’s promise of providing employment for 4,000 youths of Imo State in Europe and Canada is in order, despite the enormous criticism that has trailed the Governor’s statement.

A cross section of Imo people who reacted to Chike Okafor’s statement captioned, “Uzodinma’s 4,000 skilled foreign jobs, another jinx-breaker”, berated the former lawmaker and erstwhile Commissioner for Finance in former Governor Rochas Okorocha’s administration for mocking Imo youths who Uzodinma’s administration has often despised and taken for granted.

They expressed regret that Okafor who should know better, is supporting the idea of ferrying 4,000 youths of Imo State abroad for non-existent jobs at a time when most well meaning people all over the country are condemning the brain drain syndrome which is an anomaly.

Some of those who expressed disappointment at Chike Okafor’s statement, including Gerald Nwachukwu said, it is unfortunate that the former lawmaker who claims to be a Deacon often takes sides with and propagates the idea of the oppressors. It is obvious that he is desperate to go back to the National Assembly. But that does not warrant him to mortgage his conscience”.

They wondered why any well meaning Imolite would support the promise of providing 4,000 non-existent foreign jobs for Imo youths, describing it as baseless, unrealistic ad untenable.

He urged Imo people to ignore Chike Okafor and his selfish antics.

Nwachukwu, further said, “I know so much about Chike Okafor and would in due course expose all the atrocities he allegedly committed during the Ohakim and Rochas Okorocha administrations for Imo people to know who he really is and what he represents”.
