A highly revered Monarch in Imo State, His Royal Highness Eze (Sir) John O. Nwosu KSM (Ezeidinoba Ojiudo of Isiokwu-Ihioma) of Ihioma Autonomous Community was conferred with Great Achievers Award on Wednesday 6th March, 2024 by Oma Amaka Global Movement, a non governmental organization, comprising young vibrant Progressives, cutting across the five villages in Ihioma Autonomous Community, who are saddled with the responsibility of empowering, advancing and contributing to the growth and development of Ihioma people.

The award reads “In sincere recognition of your magnanimity and philanthropic antecedents in Ihioma and beyond. Your empowerment initiatives and job creation, encouraging youths to learn trades on your direct sponsorship is a milestone that has brought sustainable advancement in the economic fortune of Ihioma. As a living legend you have created more employment than any Ihioma man living on earth”. 

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Director of Administration, Sir Ibekaeme Anthony stated that after their National Executive Meeting, the Movement formed a body in their resolve to appreciate and recognize worthy patriots of Ihioma who have touched numerous lives positively and made visible impacts towards the growth of the people and community. 

His words “Topmost on the list is a living legend, a man who has lifted and has continued to lift men, Eze John Nwosu. It is on record that Ihioma can boost of four Electoral Officers and many retired directors in INEC courtesy of Eze Nwosu. A lot of our youths are in the civil service today because of him. Many young entrepreneurs are waxing strong because of his assistance. He attracted a lot of road projects, street lights and so many other things to our people.

“We therefore deemed it fit to honour a man of beautiful features because he deserves to be honoured. We will establish the Ihioma Hall of Fame, where the good deeds of great men like Eze Nwosu shall be stored and inscripted for the younger generations to know their impacts”.

Responding, Eze Nwosu emphasized that he has not seen a Movement as original, scientific, exact and purposeful as the Oma Amaka Global Movement. He commended their great works, expressing hope for Ihioma, Orlu with the exploits of the Movement. 

Eze Nwosu stated that Orlu is a great town, though it is under developed and tasked the Movement to intensify their efforts and commitment towards developing Orlu. 

He noted that Orlu zone is in power but development mental projects are is in Owerri, and prayed that the second tenure of Gov. Hope Uzodinma who is an Orlu son shall bring developments to Orlu LGA.  

A former lawmaker in the Imo State 7th Assembly, Hon. Dr. Victor Mere who was present at the occasion, described Eze Nwosu as an idol who should be celebrated by the entire Igbo race for his serial investments in humanity. He further commended him for being a grassroot person despite his giant strides nationally and internationally. 

Dr. Mere appreciated Oma Amaka Global Movement for giving honour to whom honour is due, encouraging them to be united and focused in fulfilling their vision by shunning evil and detractors. 

Sir Dominic Chuks Udechukwu KSM, President General of Isiokwu Ihioma who also graced the occasion, thanked Oma Amaka Global Movement for their commendable gesture, adding that it is well deserved, while describing Eze Nwosu as an institution of his own. On behalf of Isiokwu Ihioma, he reinstated their loyalty to the king, assuring him that together they will work for the greater good of the community.

However, Sir Ibekaeme highlighted some of the projects Oma Amaka Global Movement has executed as a body to ameliorate the sufferings of the Ihioma people, including, empowering many young women with capital to start petty trading, supporting small and medium size enterprises through their empowerment programs, buying commercial vehicles for some youths to use as a source of income.

He stated that the movement is encouraging Ihioma youths who wish to acquire entrepreneurial Skills to come to them for assistance, while assuring them of their readiness to establish them after their Skill Acquisition training.

Other dignitaries present at the occasion were Ugoeze Lady Angela John Nwosu, Hon. Chief Sir Emma Nzegbu, Rtd Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum, Imo State, Sir Arch. Cletus Okonkwo, Chairman Ihioma Welfare Association among others.
