Hon Godson Okereke, former Special Adviser to the Governor of Imo State on Rural Water Supply, was recently conferred with an award by Rotarct International Club of Nigeria, Imo State zone at its 2024 conference.

Okereke popularly called (Aluta Bishop), a renowned student leader and former Coordinator zone B of the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) comprising the entire South East and South South zones, was also the keynote speaker at the 2024 conference of the club with the theme, “Raising the Kindness Bar; inspiring Youths to Impact the world with Kindness, Compassion, and Empathy”.

The Ngor Okpalla Local Government Area born Youth Leader and grass roots mobilizer who disclosed this in a post on his social media platform, said, “I am impressed with the mission and vision of Rotract Club Int’l, which is geared towards helping humanity through charity, kindness and sharing love with the down trodden.

I utilized the opportunity to enlighten the youths that gathered from all over Nigeria to witness the great convocation, the focus of the teaching illustrated the impact of service to humanity through compassion and empathy. Genuine charity is a product of compassion and not for the excitement of onlookers or societal stereotypes for self praise. 

Rotaract brings together young individuals to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service and if you’re not contributing to humanity, you’re invariably a liability to the world.
