The Trio of Senator Osita Izunaso,Hon Canicemoore Nwachukwu and Hon Peter Aniekwe have been elected into ECOWAS Parliament.

This is according a release signed by David NwaenyiSenior Legislative Aide (S.L.A),

Office of Sen. Osita Izunaso, OFR which was made available to this reporter.The the representatives will be representing Nigeria in the Pan African Paliament.

The release reads,”In a significant development for Nigeria’s representation in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Senator Osita Izunaso, Honorable Nwachukwu and others have been elected as representatives to the ECOWAS Parliament. The inauguration ceremony for these distinguished lawmakers is scheduled to take place tomorrow, 4th April, 2024.

“The election of Senator Osita Izunaso, Honorables Nwachukwu, Peter Aniekwe and other resourceful lawmakers to the ECOWAS Parliament underscores Nigeria’s continued commitment to regional integration, cooperation, and diplomacy within the West African sub-region. As members of the ECOWAS Parliament, Senator Izunaso and his other colleagues will play a pivotal role in representing the interests of Nigeria and contributing to the collective efforts of ECOWAS member states towards regional development, peace, and stability.

“Note that Senator Osita Izunaso will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role in the ECOWAS Parliament. A seasoned lawmaker and former Organizing Secretary of the biggest political party in Africa (APC) for five years, Senator Izunaso has a proven track record of leadership, advocacy, and public service. His dedication to the welfare of Nigerians and his commitment to promoting regional cooperation make him a valuable asset to the ECOWAS Parliament.

“As Nigeria’s representatives in the ECOWAS Parliament, Senator Izunaso and colleagues will have the opportunity to engage with their counterparts from across the region, exchange ideas, and work together towards finding innovative solutions to pressing regional issues such as regional security, climate change, economic development, trade facilitation, and general governance.
