The newly appointed Sole Administrator of Ideato South Local Government Area, Hon Okey Okwara also known as Morroco, has resumed duty after formal hand over by the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS) Prince Igbokwe O.O, in the presence of some dignitaries, including traditional rulers, politicians and security personnel.

Speaking at the occasion, Hon Okwara expressed gratitude to God and the Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for finding him worthy to occupy the position.

He promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by ensuring the dispensation of the dividends of democracy at the grassroots.

Hon Okwara, also announced key appointments which included Mr. Luke Mbadiwe as Special Adviser on Security, Hon. Unegbu Victor-Wallace as Special Adviser on Media and Strategic Communications, Hon. Miss Agochukwu Confidence as Personal Secretary, Hon Chikezie Ayajuru as Special Adviser Operations and Hon. Bartholomew Ezeahurukwe as Personal Assistant.

Dignitaries at the occasion included HRH Eze G.O Osuala, HRH Eze K.U Chinedo Ezeoha II, Deacon Sir Joe Ezeahurukwe, Prince Ugochukwu Odoemena, SP Henry Ikechukwu Onyeze DPO Nigeria Police, Ideato South Divisional Headquarters, Hon Josephat Agina the APC LGA Party Chairman, all APC Ward Chairmen of the 13 Wards of Ideato South, Mrs Oguwuike Uchenna Head of Department Works among others.

Chairman of APC in Ideato South LGA, Hon Agina Josephat, congratulated Hon. Okwara, describing his appointment as deserving and a testament to God’s grace in his life. Sir Abi Thomas, speaking on behalf of the 13 ward chairmen, thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for appointing Hon. Okwara, who they described as a round peg in a round hole.

Okwara hit the ground running by visiting the Ntueke market and Park where he recovered illegally acquired government property at Ntueke Market and Park on his first day in office.

The property, which included parcels of land and structures, had been illegally taken over by private individuals posing as government agents. Hon. Okwara’s swift action demonstrates his commitment to restoring transparency and accountability in the local government.

The move has been widely commended by the people of Ideato South, who see it as a positive step towards restoring rule of law and good governance in the local government area. With this bold start, Hon. Okey Okwara has demonstrated his determination to tackle the challenges facing Ideato South LGA and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
