The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma has presented a brand-new bus to the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, College of Medicine, Imo State University.
The gesture is part of the government’s efforts to support institutions and ensure the upgrade of the college of medicine.
Presenting the bus on behalf of the Governor Wednesday, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie said the gesture is part of government’s efforts to support institutions and ensure the upgrade of the College of Medicine as well support health care initiatives in the State.
He praised Governor Uzodimma’s achievements in infrastructure development and security, pointing out that the bus is expected to enhance the mobility of the faculty and students.
Anyaehie urged the management of the institution to put the bus to good use and ensure it serves the purpose it was meant for.
Responding, the Provost, College Nursing Sciences, Prof.Jude Egwurugwu expressed appreciation to the Governor for the gesture and for the massive investment made to ensure upgrade of the institution.
Prof. Egwurugwu disclosed that the Department of Nursing Services in Imo State University has recently been upgraded to a faculty to secure increased quota for admission of students.
He further said that the Governor has equally funded the resource assessment of the faculty of Nursing Sciences to actualise the institution’s dream of increased quota, and thanked him for the numerous gesture to the institution.
