–  As Party Holds Stakeholders Meeting

Members of the Advanced Democratic Congress (ADC), a political party adopted by formidable opposition forces in the country have expressed concern over the failure of Chief Emeka Nwajiuba and other prominent politicians who claim to be be members of the Coalition to formally register as members of the ADC in Imo State.

An anonymous source who spoke to this reporter said it is very worrisome that Nwajiuba and his group who are visible in the activities of the ADC in Abuja are yet to formally identify with the party in Imo, This, according to him negates the age long saying that “charity begins at home”.

The source stated that at a recent meeting of the ADC, some representatives of the CPC block who were present formally declared their intention to be members of the ADC “but till date neither Chief Emeka Nwajiuba nor other top politicians have registered with the Imo state chapter of the party.”

“They are presently concentrating their efforts at Abuja and the national level without identifying with the state chapter. As it is now, we are watching and waiting for them. Everyone is welcome into the ADC. What we detest is someone coming in at the eleventh hour to hijack the party structure”.

When asked if they recognize Nwajiuba as the apex leader of the ADC in Imo, he said, “there is no such position for now. Maybe, they appointed him as such to coordinate the activities of the Coalition and other attendant issues.”.

Recall, that the ADC held a stakeholders meeting at Owerri on Wednesday July 23 at the Uzii Mission Compound, 38 Mbaise Road, Owerri.

A release issued by the State Chairman, Prof James Okoroma to that effect said, “it is mandatory for those invited including all members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from Imo State, members of the Imo State Executive Council (SEC) members of Local Government Executive Council, new members and Coalition members and candidates in the 2023 and 2024 elections to attend  adding that the agenda of the meeting will be unveiled on the floor”.
