The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has condemned in very strong terms the unprovoked killing of innocent people at Ndi-Ejezie Umualoma and Umuakunwata Uno communities of Arondizuogu in Ideato North Local Government Area, Imo State.

Anyanwu noted that no individual, despite the level of provocation, has the right to take the life of another person. He cautioned the youths against getting involved in acts of violence.

According to him, “Imo State has been on the front burner of public discourse in recent years for negative reasons. “Let it be known to all and sundry that no business, social or political interest is worth the life of any person no matter how lowly placed. These mindless killings, maiming and destruction of property must stop. The state government whose responsibility it is to protect the lives and property of citizens should rise up to its responsibilities by setting up the necessary machinery aimed at  nipping the ugly situation in the bud.”

He called on the APC-led government in the state to think outside the box and initiate steps towards preventing a repeat of the gruesome killings and other dastardly actions that not only project the state in bad light but also scare the much needed investors from the state.

“While sympathizing with families of the deceased, people of Arondizuogu, Ideato North in particular and the state in general for the loss, Anyanwu urged security agencies in the state and beyond to fish out those behind the dastardly act as a way of restoring confidence and ensuring normalcy in the communities”.
