-May Embark On Protest

Orsu Patriotic Forum (OPF) has threatened to embark on a mass protest Friday if their son and former representative in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Nnodumele is not released before then.

The group comprising youths and leaders of the area in a press statement signed by Ebuka .C. Nelto as their Spokesperson appreciated those who have in one way or the other shown concern over the embattled former lawmaker’s plight and also berated those who have been insensitive as if it does not concern them.

“ To those who have kept silent or feel that this matter does not concern them — understand this: tomorrow, it could be you. The powers in question have no true friends. They can target anyone they choose, and your silence today may cost you your freedom tomorrow.

Let it be clear: the Orsu Patriotic Forum fully supports the fight against insecurity. We welcome decisive action against criminals who have set our home on fire. However, we reject the politicization of this fight. We stand firmly against the oppression of innocent people under the guise of security enforcement.

The recent ordeal of a former House of Assembly member from our community stands as a glaring example. Justice must be fair, transparent, and impartial — not selective or politically motivated.

In addition, we are today sending invitations to national and local newspapers, television stations, and online media outlets to be present on Friday. What is happening in Orsu must be seen and heard by the world. We urge everyone to inform any bloggers, journalists, or influencers they know — we are doing our best to reach all corners of the media.

This is a serious issue. Since the Nigeria Police Force in Imo has chosen to remain silent, we will speak for ourselves.

Our petitions are ready for submission to the appropriate authorities, and the protest will go ahead as planned on Friday. If any new developments arise, we will promptly inform the public.

We urge everyone to come out without fear. Stand for justice. Stand for truth. Stand for Orsu”.
