The people of Ndionyemobi autonomous community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State have demanded due process in the selection of their Traditional Ruler.

The people made the demand in a release signed by Sir Ikenna Okwuobasi, President General, Obinna Stanley Okafor, Secretary, Vitalis Chukwuebuka Ogbonna, President, Youth Association and Mrs. Grace Ifeyinwa Irole, President, Women Wing of Ndionyemobi Autonomous Community and issued to the media in Owerri, on Thursday.

According to them, “Ndionyemobi Community Development Union (Ndionyemobi Autonomous Community) in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, demands that Due Process should be followed in the Selection of the Tradional Ruler of the Autonomous Community.

“Ndionyemobi is made up of two major Communities: Obilugwu (Ndioti) and Obilikpa (Ndi-ajiero).

“In accordance to the Constitution of Ndionyemobi Autonomous Community (Article 17, Section D2, Paragraph 1, 2, 3), the Ezeship Stool of the Community is Rotational between Obilugwu and Obilikpa.

“It has come to our notice that someone has presented himself to Oguta Local Government Council as Eze-elect of Ndionyemobi Autonomous Community without the knowledge and consent of Ndionyemobi Town Union Executive and the entire Community.

“Ndionyemobi Community/Town Union shall formarly present the Selected and Rightful Candidate for the Stool of the Eze in due course”.
