Ideato North local government area chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has honored Chief Uche Ume with an
Excellent Service Award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, selfless service and immense contributions to the socio-economic and cultural development of Ideato North and Imo State in general.
Bestowing him with the Award which came on 26th December, 2025, the Chairman of Ideato North Chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Mazi Onyife Iloabuchi (Chinwatakweaku), commended Ume for his unwavering commitment to community development, unity and promotion of Igbo values.
He said the Award was fitting, saying the his contributions have left lasting impacts across the local government area and Imo State at large.
Reacting, Chief Uche Ume, who bears the traditional titles of Nwajiugonnaya of Obodoukwu and Omeiheukwu of Imo State, expressed profound gratitude to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide for the recognition.
“I am deeply honoured by this award. It is a call to do more for our people and our land. Development is a collective responsibility and I remain committed to serving Ideato North and Imo State with sincerity and dedication,” he said.
Ume further reaffirmed his belief in unity among Ndi Igbo, stressing that meaningful progress can only be achieved through cooperation and shared purpose.
“When we stand together as one people, we can overcome our challenges and build a future our children will be proud of. I dedicate this honour to the people of Ideato North who continue to inspire my service,” he added.
The award ceremony formed part of the chapter’s efforts to recognise individuals who have distinguished themselves through selfless service, exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the advancement of Igbo socio-cultural values.
