Commissioner for Rural Development, Ifeanyi Oru, has said that he has no hands in scheming for Pastor Chris Mbarie to return as Orlu Local Government Council Chairman when his tenure expires.
-As stakeholders describe moves as hight of desperation
He made the denial on a telephone chat with the Watchdog Newspaper, recently.
Oru, who hails from Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, a strong supporter of Governor Hope Uzodimma, was earlier accused of scheming to thwart the Orlu Council Seat zoning arrangement by foisting Magnus Okorie (of Isu clan) for Orlu State Constituency Seat with a view to returning Pastor Chris Mbarie as Council Chairman.
Oru said it was a false allegation being peddled by mischief makers who he said are bent to tarnish his good image.
Report has it that Ifeanyi Oru was allegedly hoisting Magnus Okorie on the people of Orlu LGA because of the close ties he shares with Pastor Chris Mbarie who the people asked to allow the charter of equity to run fairly and smoothly in the area to avoid political instability and the breech of peace and disorderliness.
Mbarie was allegedly quoted to have single – handedly bought the APC Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for Magnus Okorie, who is the Majority Leader of Orlu Legislative Council, to enable him to return to the Council at the peril of the people who warned him and the Commissioner to allow the status quo of the zoning arrangement to flow freely.
