– Accuse Him Of Greed, Selfishness, Insensitivity
“We the youths of Nempi community in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State having endured and kept quiet for so long wish to use this opportunity to let Imo people and the general public know, that sequel to the several alleged reprehensible and vindictive actions and conduct of Chief Willie Okolieogwo, who hails from Nempi, we have resolved and hereby pass a vote of no confidence in him”.
“It is unfortunate that Okolieogwo, who parades himself before the public as a patriotic gentleman and community leader is allegedly the direct opposite of the image he portrays”.
The youths of Nempi community stated this in a release signed by Comrade Mark Akobundu and Victor Ozor, as Coordinator and Secretary of Concerned Nempi Youths Association and made available to Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper.
The youths further said, “how can Willie Okolieogwo who claims to be a community leader be hobnobbing with those who allegedly support violence, suppress, victimize and terrorize the people, especially the youths”.
“There are complaints in several quarters about how Okolieogwo allegedly sold some shops at the Orie Nempi market and did not account for the proceeds up till now.
It is also alleged that one Ebere, who was Okolieogwo’s Personal Assistant was the Secretary of Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Nempi. It was also through the same Ebere that he allegedly bought and handed over three motor cycles to the ESN in Nempi to enhance their disgusting operational effectiveness. It was the same Ebere who is alleged to have connived with the Anti Kidnapping Unit of the Imo State Police Command formerly called Tiger Base to come and arrest presumably innocent Nempi youths who they falsely labelled as criminals, kidnappers etc in a bid to extort huge amounts of money from them. One of their victims Kendo, reportedly spent over one year in the custody of Tiger Base. It is also speculated that they are still owing some women who they collected money from to secure the release of their children but are yet to deliver on their promise. For these and other reasons too numerous to mention, we hereby unequivocally state that any person or group of persons discussing, transacting or engaging in any form of transaction with Willie Okolieogwo, for or on behalf of Nempi autonomous community now or in the near future is doing so at his or her own risk because, we have with effect from the date of this publication distanced and dissociated ourselves from him in all aspects.”
