On Saturday, Mr. Paschal Okechukwu, widely recognized as Cubana Chief Priest and the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, was unsuccessful in his attempt to secure the candidacy for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming House of Representatives election for the Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency.

He was defeated in the party’s primary election by the incumbent representative, Honorable Canice Moore Nwachukwu.

The City Boys Movement serves as the campaign organization for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who even promised Tinubu of 10M votes in 2027.

It was established by Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Tinubu.

Reports indicate that Honorable Jonas Okeke, a former Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, emerged victorious over Honorable Chike Okafor to secure the party’s nomination for the Okigwe South Constituency, which includes the Ehime Mbano, Ihitte Uboma, and Obowo council areas.

Honorable Okeke, who previously belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was declared the winner of the 2023 election in the constituency; however, Honorable Okafor later reclaimed the mandate through a court ruling.

Other individuals who also secured the APC’s nominations to contest elections for the Green Chamber included Eugene Dibiagwu (Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West), Tochukwu Okere (Owerri Municipal/Owerri West/Owerri North), Ngozi Pat-Ekeji (Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala), Chukwu Anyanwuocha (Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Mbaise), and Sandra Anyama (Ideato North/Ideato South).

Additionally, the nominations were awarded to Uchenna Agasu (Okigwe North), Akarachi Amadi (Mbaitoli/Ikeduru), and Cosmos Maduba (Nkwerre/Nwangele/Isu/Njaba).
