- Urges Residents To Partner With Security Agencies
The Orlu Local Government Area Council has issued a security alert and public advisory notice to residents in respect of the prevailing security challenges in the state.
The Executive Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Chris Mbarie, in a release issued by his Chief Press Secretary Oscar Achumba, called called on all Presidents-General (PGs), traditional leaders, community stakeholders, sons and daughters of Orlu, market leaders, youth groups, and residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding in the interest of peace, security, and development across the Local Government Area.
The Chairman urged parents and guardians to take responsibility for the proper upbringing of their children and wards by advising them against all forms of criminality, violence, cult-related activities, drug abuse, and other acts capable of threatening the peace and security of our communities.
“The increasing abuse of hard and illicit substances, especially dangerous narcotics such as ” mkpuru mmiri” and other harmful drugs has continuously raised serious concern. Those involved in the consumption, distribution, or promotion of such substances are hereby warned to desist forthwith, as security agencies will not hesitate to enforce the law against offenders.”
The Executive Chairman charged all Heads of security networks, community vigilante groups, and relevant stakeholders across Orlu LGA to intensify their efforts in safeguarding lives and property, adding that security of lives and property is a collective responsibility. Hence, every resident has a role to play in ensuring a safe and peaceful environment.
According to him, “while the government continues to deploy every available resource toward protecting lives and property, citizens must complement these efforts by remaining vigilant and cooperating with security agencies. Residents are encouraged to promptly report suspicious movements, suspected criminal activities, or individuals whose actions threaten public safety. If you see something, say something.
The peace and security of Orlu is everyone’s responsibility. Your safety and my safety depend on our collective commitment to protecting our communities. Let us all rise to the occasion, remain alert, and work together to preserve the peace, stability, and progress of Orlu Local Government Area”.
