….Says;He Desire To Serve Imo Outside Opposition
A legal practitioner and the legal Adviser to the African Democratic Congress, Barrister Kissinger Ikeokwu, has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing his desire to contribute to the governance and development of Imo State outside the present opposition arrangement.
Ikeokwu announced his resignation in a letter dated August 11, 2026, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the ADC in Osuama/Anara Ward, Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
In the letter titled, “Letter of Resignation from the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” Ikeokwu formally notified the party of his decision to resign as a member, with effect from the date of the letter.
He said his decision was informed by his belief that his desire to contribute to good governance and the development of Imo State would be better served by making himself available for opportunities outside the current opposition arrangement.
“At this stage, I believe the desire to contribute to good governance and development of Imo State would be better served by making myself available for opportunities to serve outside the present opposition arrangement,” he stated.
The lawyer added that he had decided to commit his time, abilities and best endeavours towards opportunities that would enable him to contribute more directly to the service, progress and development of the state.
Ikeokwu thanked the party as he formally ended his membership.
His resignation comes amid ongoing political realignments in Imo State, as political actors and groups continue to reposition themselves ahead of future political developments.
The letter did not disclose the specific political platform or opportunity Ikeokwu intends to pursue following his resignation from the ADC.
