Sequel to the directive of the 3R shared prosperity administration of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for the conduct of Town Union elections across the State to work in synergy with the Local Government Councils to ensure the development of rural communities, the Naze autonomous community in Owerri North LGA conducted her town union election on Saturday 4th July 2026 at St Jude’s Catholic Church Premises where Comr George Ofoegbu Ph.D led executives emerged on a landslide victory.
In the light of the foregoing, the traditional institution, stakeholders and members of Naze Peoples’ Assembly on Thursday 30th July 2026 at the palace of HRH Eze Francis Ugorji (Eze Udo 2 of Naze) inaugurated the new leadership of Naze People’s Assembly (NPA) led by Comr George Ofoegbu Ph.D.
In his acceptance speech, Comr George Ofoegbu Ph.D thanked Naze community for the confidence reposed in his leadership of Naze People’s Assembly to lead the community to greater heights.
Ofoegbu expressed appreciation to the past leadership of NPA for laying a solid foundation without which his leadership wouldn’t have existed as he commended them for their efforts and dedication to the development of the community.
He assured Naze community of the commitment of his team to drive development and progress anchored on Security, peace and conflict resolution, infrastructural development, youth & women empowerment, government liaison, transparency and inclusiveness.
The swearing in ceremony anchored by Barr Felix N. Orji had the presence of the traditional ruler of Naze autonomous community HRH Eze Francis Ugorji, the Traditional Prime Minister of Naze Chief Ejike Onuegbu, Mr Emma Maduike (Mama Kay), outgoing Secretary of NPA Mr Eze Iheanacho, former Councillor of Naze ward Hon Chief Lambert Nzeh, MD/CEO of Rimrock hotel Oshieze Innocent Iheme, outgoing assistant Secretary General of NPA Mr Martin Eziefuna, Elder Onyekachi Ukaonu, the outgoing assistant Vice President general Elder Sir Dominic Oduocha, Hon Chukwuma Nzeh, Chief Okey Diwe, MD/CEO of Pasclene Motors Hon Pascal Oleru, MD/CEO of human race hospital Chief Uchenna Iwuagwu, Mr Anthony Iheagwam (Owigiri), Elder Innocent Iheanacho, Sir Vincent Agoha, youth Presidents of various villages amongst other stakeholders.
